About us

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Rarieda Sub-County, Siaya County, Kenya, John Wilson Foundation (JOWI-F) Community Based Organization (CBO) has 5 years of progressive work experience. We exist to provide Care and Support to Orphans
and other Vulnerable Children (OVC) including Children Living with HIV (CLHIV). Our current focus in OVC programming is to support access to Early Childhood Development (ECD) and other formal Education opportunities (Primary, Secondary
and Tertiary). We promote Education as a means of fighting poverty and for a better future. We are committed to using available resources and talents for achieving greater goals in the aspirations of our community.

JOWI-F is a legally registered CBO under the Government of Kenya’s (GoK) Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Services (Registration Certificate No. 37491). We are registered by Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) as required
by GoK (KRA PIN Certificate No. P051572963N) and ensured we are Tax Compliant.

LOCATION: WHERE WE WORK

At inception, JOWI-F initially worked in Rarieda Sub-County, Siaya County, Kenya. However, having improved our Institutional Structures and Systems, we have strategically forecast to extend our services to Three (3) neighboring Counties
of Nyanza Region with high HIV prevalence and thus our current target Geographic coverage include the four (4) Counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay and Migori.

MISSION
To expand opportunities for Child education; support children’s growth and address their needs through community participation.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. To institute programs aimed at expanding opportunities for Education to Vulnerable Children.

  2. To advocate for effective and inclusive participation in social programs that affect the lives of Vulnerable Children.

  3. To create awareness and advocate for reduction of incidence and impact of HIV and AIDS.

  4. To promote Child health and wellbeing, ensuring nutrition, feeding and health care needs of the Vulnerable Children is attained.

  5. To seek and build partnerships for networking as a means of learning and common growth in the field of community Health and Development.
